My Story

    My name is Marijana Čuvalo.

    Born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, to Croatian parents, I now live in Makarska, Croatia.

    I created this website for a few reasons: to share some of my stories about living in Croatia, to connect with individuals and businesses interested in sharing their stories, and to remind myself that every chapter of our lives is an adventure.

  • My Adriatic Adventure

    In December 2021, I moved from Toronto, Canada, to Makarska, Croatia.

    And so began my blog about My Adriatic Adventure.

    My Adriatic Adventure focuses on my life in Croatia and the importance of being present, living by my values, and finding joy in the little things.

    I hope you enjoy my stories and photos of the things I take notice of while living in Croatia.

    I hope they remind you to treat every chapter of your life as an adventure.

My Adriatic Adventure

We all have that one thing -or many things - and because of it, we become better humans. And right now, that ‘thing’ for me is learning to share some of my stories about my life in Croatia.

It has definitely become an exercise in vulnerability.

I write about people, places, feelings, and food. And sometimes, I write about the weather - because that Bura can be intense.

My Storytelling

Over the past 20 years, I have worn many work hats. I realized that each role and hat involved me telling or sharing someone’s story.

Today, I continue exploring opportunities to work with others to help tell their stories.
